- build a sense of community, belonging, relationships to help transition them
from childhood to teenage years
- give preteens a place were they fit in, geared just for them
- spiritual growth
- service opportunities
The edge is the ministry geared specifically toward our preteens. It is our desire to give
5th and 6th grade students a place to call their own, to build a sense of community and relationships
to help them transition from childhood to teenage years. Preteens are in transition spiritually.
They are ready to learn “why”, ask deeper questions, and own their own faith.
We have chosen Group’s Grapple curriculum. Grapple offers a safe online community at
mygrapple.com
for students to communicate with one another throughout the week. The students are also given opportunities
to answer clues about upcoming lessons, vote on games and activities for lessons, and post messages on
message boards about God sightings, prayer requests, send messages within the group, and post comments
on friends’ pages. The Bible lessons are designed to get kids digging into the Bible to relate faith to
real life and find answers to questions. These lessons are relevant to the lives of preteens.
